David has more than 16 years of finance and operations leadership experience with industry leaders in medical technology (Medtronic), healthcare (University of Maryland Medical System), and high tech (Xilinx, Inc. in Silicon Valley). Throughout his career, he has successfully guided organizations through process improvement resulting in greater efficiency and higher profitability. He received his bachelor’s degree in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering from Duke University and earned a MBA from Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. His primary responsibilities are strategic planning, operations management, early-stage financial management, and business development.
Matthew D. Barrett, MD
Founder and Chief Innovation Officer
Matthew is a board-certified emergency medicine physician with 14 years of clinical experience. He is a staff physician for Oregon Emergency Physicians, practicing at Providence Portland Medical Center. Previously, he practiced at Fairview Southdale Hospital and was an active member of Emergency Physicians Professional Association (EPPA), a Twin Cities-based private practice with 130 physicians. He served as an Assistant Director of Quality Improvement for EPPA and a member of Fairview Southdale’s Physicians and Informatics Committee. He received his bachelor’s degree from Emory University, earned his MD from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and completed his residency at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC). Matthew is also a recognized innovation leader and lecturer in the field of mobile health technology. His primary responsibilities are technology strategy, market research, and business development.
Scott Joing, MD
VP of Product Development
Scott is a board-certified emergency medicine physician with more than 10 years of experience. He is a faculty physician at HCMC’s Emergency Department, which treats approximately 110,000 patients each year. He is also an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of MN Medical School. Scott received his bachelor’s degree from Bethel College in St. Paul MN, was awarded his MD from the University of Minnesota, and completed his residency at HCMC. His primary responsibilities are product strategy, software development, and user training.
